Wiburn Wanderers 1   Stanford Wanderers 3

The Reds didn’t deserve to lose. Despite all the early pressure Wilburn fell behind with a well-worked goal from Stanford and things didn’t get any better for us when Stanford struck another to make it two.  Chris tried to chip the goalie but he caught it at full stretch, Tommy curled a shot against the bar, but it wasn’t until the last minute of the half that Wilburn finally scored through Tommy half time Wilburn 1 Stanford 2.   

  Second Half

Tony put Chriso on to strengthen the defence and he had his best game for us so far cutting out Stanford crosses and keeping the left side safe. Despite all of this Wilburn fell further behind. 3-1.  We again put on most of the pressure but could not get the ball past the Stanford keeper.

Final score 3-1 Wilburn didn’t deserve to lose, a fair result would have been a draw every boy played their part.
